Annual Country Reports on Homeopathy
50th Anniversary of the School "Homeopatia de Mexico AC"
Dr. José Matuk, President of the Liga Medicorum Homeopathica Internationalis (LMHI) joined the
celebration of the 50th anniversary of the school "Homeopatia de Mexico AC" that took place from 3 - 7 August 2010 in Mexico City. He was accompanied by LMHI Prime Vice President Dr. Renzo Galassi and the LMHI Secretary for Archives, Dr. Edgar Godoy.
In his welcome address, the Mexican Secretary of Public Education, Professor Alonso Lujambio, highlighted the importance of this homeopathic school in Mexico as an official teaching centre for medical professionals in Mexico. "Homeopatia de Mexico AC" is on of two institutions that grant the M. D. degree. In addition, there are five post graduates schools and two homeopathic hospitals. In February 2002, the LMHI started a cooperation with the Ministry Of Health to establish a legal framework for the teaching of homeopathic medicine in Mexico based on the LMHI minimum educational standards.
Homeopathic medicine has been recognized in Mexico since 1896. Its popularity among the Mexican population is increasing every year.
