"Homoeopathy for Public Health": 2000 Participants Celebrate LMHI Congress 2011 in New Delhi, India
From 01-04 December 2011, more than 2000 participants from 33 different countries of the world came together at the Sirifort Auditorium in New Delhi, India, to jointly celebrate not only the 66th World Homeopathic Medical Congress of the international homeopathic medical society Liga Medicorum Homoeopathica Internationalis (LMHI) but also the LMHI's reunion with its Indian Chapter.
LMHI Delegation Meets with President of India and Hands Over Memorandum on Homeopathy
On 4 December, the closing day of the congress, LMHI officials ceremoniously presented an official memorandum to the President of India at an afternoon reception in the President's House requesting the continued support of the Indian government for the promotion of homeopathy in India, the country that is at present a homeopathic hub with the highest number of homeopathic colleges, doctors, hospitals and followers in the world.

LMHI Governance Meetings
Prior to the Congress opening the LMHI's International Council (IC), consisting of the National Vice-Presidents and National Contact Persons from more than 70 LMHI member countries, held their annual IC-meeting.
On 1st December 2011, the Indian Health Minister Sh. Ghulam Nabi Azad inaugurated the LMHI Congress 2011 in the presence of around 2000 delegates, including 170 overseas delegates from 33 countries, such as France, Germany, USA, Brazil, Greece, Italy, Malaysia, South Africa, Austria, Belgium, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and others.
Over 300 research papers were presented at the Congress on varied topics including Homoeopathy for epidemics, Homoeopathy for happy mother and healthy child, Homoeopathy in Primary Health Care, Homoeopathic Education and Policies, Clinical verification, Prescribing Techniques, Clinical Studies, Miasmatic diagnosis and its relevance, Case Studies, Basic research, Drug Control and Quality Assurance, Drug proving - planning & protocol, Homoeopathy in veterinary medicine and Homoeopathy in dentistry.
Overall, the Congress provided enough thought material to the policymakers to contemplate on the ways to revolutionise the homeopathic set up in India, keeping in view the current scenario of Homeopathy in the world. It also proved to be a great opportunity for the homeopathic physicians, organisations, colleges and students to understand the current scenario of Homeopathy in the world and identify with their respective roles for contributing to the upliftment of Homeopathy in the entire world.
